In English: “All staff, please join via the link below as soon as possible… Verification question: enter the company’s full name… Once inside, change your display name to ‘Department–Name’… This link involves confidential company business. Do not share or forward it.”

How to tell it’s fake

  1. The sender isn’t our domain

It comes from a free Outlook mailbox, not @boringtranslations.com. Anyone can type any display name, so always check the actual address.

  2. It asks you to join a LINE group

We never ask anyone by email to join a LINE group. Groups like this are often where the next scam starts: someone posing as a manager asks you to buy gift cards, transfer money or hand over information.

  3. It asks for your company, department and name

The so-called “verification” only collects your identity, so the scammers look more convincing inside the group.

  4. It tells you to keep it secret

“Do not share” is there to stop you from checking with anyone. A real company announcement has nothing to fear from being checked.
